Women in Data Science

The CCIMI are delighted to sponsor a Women in Data Science event at the Isaac Newton Institute on Wednesday 7 December.  This event sits within the New Developments in Data Privacy workshop, part of the current INI programme on Data Linkage and Anonymisation.

All women and men who work in the field of data science are invited to apply to attend this event which showcases the work of experts in the field, with talks from the following:

Prof Sheila Bird (Medical Research Council
Prof Cynthia Dwork (Microsoft Research and Harvard)
Prof Yulia Gel (University of Texas at Dallas)
Prof Anna Oganian (National Center for Health Statistics)
Prof Christina O’Keefe (Commonwealth and Industrial Research Organisation and University of Adelaide)

The talks will be followed by a Panel Session with panelists including:

Prof Sheila Bird (Medical Research Council)
Prof Cynthia Dwork (Microsoft Research and Harvard)
Prof Sofia Olhede (UCL)
Dr Carola-Bibiane Schonlieb (Cantab Capital Institute for Mathematics of Information, University of Cambridge)

This event is one of a series of events held at 25+ locations worldwide, culminating in a WiDS Day being held at Stanford University on February 3 2017.

The fees for attending this event are as follows: Registration fee including lunch, tea/coffee, and a wine reception: £33.  If you wish to apply for funding to attend this event then please indicate this on your application form.
