The first CCIMI Research conference, ‘High Dimensional Mathematics’ was held on 25th May 2017, at the Isaac Newton Institute.
The event covered various aspects of High Dimensional mathematics, including Analysing High-dimensional Data, Statistics and Optimisation, with presentations from Chris Longworth (Cantab Capital Partners), Simon Masnou (Université Claude Bernard Lyon), Mauro Maggioni (Johns Hopkins University), Tengyao Wang (University of Cambridge), Matthew Thorpe (Carnegie Mellon University) and Joan Lasenby (University of Cambridge). The programme also included short ‘elevator pitches’ from our first year PhD students, in which each student gave a 5 minute presentation on their work to accompany a poster presented during the poster session.
The event was attended by a number of academics from various institutions, from a variety of subjects, as well as colleagues from Cantab Capital Partners and other industry based researchers.
The event was delivered with the Turing Gateway. Videos of many of the talks and the full programme is available on the Turing Gateway Website.
