We are thrilled to announce that institute director, Carola Schönlieb, has been awarded the Whitehead prize for mathematics. This is in recognition of her spectacular contribution to the field of mathematics in image analysis and inverse imaging problems.

The Whitehead prizes are awarded in memory of Professor J. H. C. Whitehead, to early career mathematicians (those with 15 years or less experience at postdoc level or higher), in recognition of work in or influence upon mathematics. Up to 6 prizes may be awarded annually, and a full list of all recipients can be found on the LMS website
