CCIMI faculty member Julia Gog was awarded the LMS Whitehead Prize for her wide-ranging contributions to the mathematical understanding of disease dynamics, particularly influenza, based on both mathematical mastery and profound biological insight, gained from her long-standing collaborations with immunologists and epidemiologists.

The Whitehead prize is awarded annually by the London Mathematical Society to mathematicians in the first 15 years of their career who are also resident in, or were educated within the UK.  It is named in memory of Professor J.H.C. Whitehead.
